The Heiniger Shearer Training Centre located on the Jamestown Showgrounds in Victoria Park, South Australia is complete, and is ready to welcome the next generation of shearers and wool handlers.

Today, Heiniger’s Managing Director, Gary Lyons opened the completed facilities which include the complete range of industry-leading Heiniger and TPW shearing and wool handling equipment. “This is the culmination of the vision, dedication and passion of all involved – from the committee, the supporters and the wider Jamestown community.”

This is the first purpose-built and Heiniger-equipped training facility in Australia, operational year-round, delivering practical skills, training and certification within the local community, as well as being a centre for excellence for shearing in South Australia.

Shearing shed safety is at the forefront of the training centre’s design, with Heiniger’s multiple WorkSafe award-winning shearing plant and wool presses forming the backbone of the operations, ensuring that the next generation of shearers are well-prepared, agile, adaptable and most importantly, safe.
